Overview

itemis License Management is responsible for handling required and available licenses for all itemis products. In order to use the installed itemis products, either a corresponding license file needs to be imported or, if supported, a license server needs to be configured. For further information see also the section on License Configuration.

The itemis License Management currently supports the following types of licenses:

• File licenses are placed within a folder in the filesystem of the current computer.
• Floating licenses can be obtained from a license server which is located somewhere in the network. The license server provides a certain amount of floating licenses for different features.
• Dongle licenses are file licenses which require an additional USB dongle.
